STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Grand Union Holistic Solutions, an alcohol and substance abuse treatment center in Travis, will host a complimentary parent and sibling support group on Thursday, Nov. 13, at 6:30 p.m.
The facility’s outreach coordinator, Alicia Palermo-Reddy, a registered nurse known to many as the ”Addiction Angel,” will be facilitating the session. She has nearly 20 years of experience in facing addiction issues.
“If you or anyone you may know is currently struggling, you are not alone,” the center said in a release. “Share your story, offer advice to others or just listen. The first step to helping a loved one is to help yourself.”

“I’ve seen firsthand how impactful monthly support groups can be for families, and I’m committed to bringing that same support here,” Palermo-Reddy previously told the Advance/SILive.com.
“It’s vital to be there when families are overwhelmed and don’t know where to turn, especially during that critical moment when an addict reaches out for help,” she said. “Acting quickly in that small window of opportunity can truly save a life.”
