PARK CITY, Utah — The Katz Amsterdam Charitable Trust is directing $500,000 in mental health grants to organizations in Summit County through the Park City Community Foundation. This funding is part of a long-term investment to promote wellness in mountain communities.

The grants will support eight local nonprofits that provide mental health and substance use recovery services. The organizations receiving funding include Jacky’s Recovery Support Services, Jewish Family Service of Utah, People’s Health Clinic, Peace House, Christian Center of Park City, Holy Cross Ministries, Live Like Sam Foundation, and the Summit County Recovery Foundation.

Since 2016, Katz Amsterdam has invested more than $22.3 million in mental and behavioral health initiatives across mountain communities in the West, with over $3.6 million allocated to Summit County organizations through the Park City Community Foundation.

The grants will facilitate trauma-informed care, bilingual mental health services, crisis intervention, youth prevention programs, and substance use recovery efforts. Roy Parker of the Summit County Recovery Foundation stated, “This funding strengthens our ability to meet people where they are, expand peer support, and provide the consistent, compassionate care that helps individuals move toward long-term recovery. It directly impacts lives every day.”

In addition to direct grants, Katz Amsterdam supports cross-community learning initiatives, including a bilingual community survey and a data dashboard that helps organizations align their strategies with local needs. Through its network community visit program, partners from Park City, Summit County, and Telluride have collaborated on coordinated efforts to enhance mental health infrastructure and expand culturally responsive services.

Anna Frachou, director of the Summit County Mental Wellness Alliance, remarked, “By supporting partners that offer culturally responsive care and investing in shared learning across communities, Katz Amsterdam is helping us build a stronger, more coordinated ecosystem of support for individuals and families.”

The trust also supports similar networks in Aspen, Crested Butte, Eagle County, Steamboat, Telluride, Sun Valley, Jackson, Tahoe-Truckee, and Big Sky.

The Katz Amsterdam Foundation and Charitable Trust were established by Rob Katz, CEO of Vail Resorts, and his late wife, Elana Amsterdam.
