Brad and Kerri Dahlhofer decided to get serious about their homebrew passion in the summer of 2006. The trigger for this change was Kerri’s unfortunate layoff from her job. She was enjoying a glass of vanilla cinnamon mead made by Brad when she had the idea to focus her brainpower on selling their mead. So they set out to do just that.

In addition to their alcohol-fueled meads, they’ve also hand-crafted a variety of low-calorie, all-natural, 0% ABV cocktails. They carry the clever name SOBER (accenting the O with a % sign) — Classic Margarita, Grapefruit Paloma, Tangerine G&T, Strawberry Watermelon and Negroni (the last two were released after my review).

#ADDTOCART: B. Nektar Sober Craft Mocktails

    • Category: ready-to-drink
    • Place of origin: Detroit, MI
    • ABV: 0%
    • Total sugars: between 5g & 19g flavor-dependent
    • Classic Margarita tasting notes: a hint of salt and agave immediately conjure up a day at the beach with a margarita in hand.

These beverages were a bit more interesting than the typical seltzer water and I enjoyed serving them in appropriate mid-century glassware, complete with a salted rim for the margarita. B. Nektar has done a beautiful job with their branding, so you never have to feel like you’re imbibing a lesser beverage than your alcohol-drinking friends.

For more mid-century glassware, check out The Happy Traveler – Vintage Travel Bars.

Welcome to HAPPY EVERY HOUR, your go-to hub for all things NA (non-alcoholic). We review alcohol-free beers, ciders, wines, spirits, RTDs (ready-to-drink), and share NA cocktail recipes that taste just as good—if not better—than the boozy originals. Whether you’re sober, sober-curious, or just taking a break, this is where great taste meets zero proof.

TRIGGER WARNING: People in early sobriety may want to proceed with caution. Always read labels. Please hydrate responsibly … #becausedrunkneverlooksgood.
