Their topic of discussion was Suboxone and how they were “mis”-managing their doses. Naturally I tuned in to their conversation. The f’ bomb flavored conversation continued on to judges in the local court. Sadly I knew all the judge’s names as my son had been before many of them. The young mens’ morning chat twisted onto the topic of recovery homes and other rehab stops. Again I could vividly remember many of the sober homes etc. as my son had done a few years through the courtroom and rehab circuit.

I no longer worry about “public bathrooms, music by Eminem, music by 50 Cent, Snoop Dog, rainy days, winter, summer, spring, fall” or anything else that my diseased parental mind might think would be a potential trigger to set off a relapse.
My son has not shot heroin in a few years yet the recovery continues. From what I read at other sites and blogs it is a life long journey. A journey full of twists and turns that we should not try to control as parents. He got his first car (his first car in sobriety [...]
