Hope
My Son is again taking steps on the journey of his recovery.
He is entering a private program with a great reputation. Does their reputation guarantee his recovery? I am cognizant that there are no guarantees, yet I remain hopeful.
Today is a good day.
He has pulled himself away from the chaos of the last month and again righted the ship.
Time will in fact tell, but for my recovery I need to stay in the “here and now”. Thank you to all who have written kind words and offered support.
Peace and strength

I am so hopeful for you and your son!!
This is a journey, and as parents, we learn with each step. As do our children. We were told by a social worker at his current facility that our son is doing well- taking what he has learned and becoming a kind of leader to the group.
It is a never ending journey, and we have to take pleasure in the small steps.
nice to hear your son is taking a leadership role…this often helps them w/ their own recovery.

I am glad today is a good day. Hoping for many more for you and your son.
Let us all pray that this is the time he finally gets it for good. God bless him and your family. Prayers from Dallas!
I am glad to read this! I too, like you take my daughter’s recovery one day at a time, that said I do not deny my feelings of hope for her long term recovery. I have heard too many stories of recovery to not believe my daughter and your son and all addicts cannot recover. I believe they can and will have good fulfilling lives.

Thank you David – I truly hope all is well and that your daughter stacks up continued “one day at a time”s … Yes they can but Im advised by a mutual friend of ours to never project their recovery. Good advice.
Wishing both our children “good fulfilling lives”
peace
